A December Thank You!

It is by amazing grace that the light which even the likes of us can sometimes bring to the dark and needful streets where our lives lead us is no less than the Light of the World, which is Christ.  Christ is brought to us, and we can bring Christ to each other.  That is the mystery of Advent, where justice and mercy, comfort and challenge, the holy and the human, all meet...                                        Frederick Buechner

At Daystar, we live perpetually in this place...where justice and mercy, comfort and challenge, the holy and human all meet.  We live in the mystery of Advent.  Good News of Great Joy.  Christ being born in a lowly manger.  Light piercing the darkness of our struggle...of each of the families' struggles that make up Daystar Counseling Ministries.

Since 1985, Daystar has been an Advent ministry.  Currently, we serve over 1300 families and individuals in our community.  We have 20 groups that meet weekly.  We have 9 full-time counselors, 4 office staff, 2 development staff, 4 interns, 4 pet therapists, and a bird (maybe somewhere) in a dogwood tree.  All at home in a beautiful office that one boy aptly called "the little yellow house that helps people."

Whether it's death, divorce, anxiety, depression, ADD, or a child who just needs a safe place to talk, our little yellow house is here to bring Christ.  Christ is brought to us, and then we have the tremendous honor of bringing him—bringing hope - to each and every family who walks through our doors.

Thank you for your gracious support of our ministry.  Thank you for being an important part of bringing Christ to us—and to all of the families Daystar is privileged to serve.

It is an honor for us to celebrate Advent with you.
